If She Was Here

The conversations around me didn’t matter.

We were sat in a circle around the fire. Hot chocolates, marshmallows and blankets.

Once I realised she wasn’t there, it stuck with me for a bit. It felt realer than ever.

She would have worn a cardigan. A thick knit with the sleeves slightly longer than her arms. You would have missed her, sitting away in the corner. I’d look over and she would be smiling. Maybe she would pull a stupid face. She would probably be uninterested in the conversation and looking for something to keep herself entertained. Maybe she would be making a jungle
